Celebrating Local School Food Leaders!
Who are the “pollinators” in your school community? Do you know an educator or school group creating a buzz about food literacy? Now is the time to celebrate their impact! Nominate them by March 9th, 2025 at 11:59 PM PT and they will be entered in a draw to receive $1,300 to host a Pollination Celebration at the end of the school year.
What’s the Buzz?
We’re selecting five schools, one from each of the F2SBC regions, to receive $1,300 to plan a regional food field trip or host an in-school food feast. That’s why we’re calling on all school communities in B.C. to nominate an educator or school group ready to lead the charge!
Ideal nominees are already driving impactful food systems work in your school community. This is your chance to celebrate their leadership and unite your school for an unforgettable Pollination Celebration.
Who is a Pollinator?
Farm to School BC Pollinators are the vibrant leaders, educators, and school groups that help grow healthy and culturally connected food systems. They’re the ones buzzing around gardens, kitchens, and classrooms—spreading knowledge, nurturing thriving learning spaces, and supporting young students as they develop the skills and values to give back to their communities and the environment.
Let’s celebrate the people and projects transforming our schools into hubs of nourishment, learning, and connection. Nominate a Pollinator today!

How to Nominate a Pollinator
Confirm Interest and Availability
If you’re nominating an educator or school group (other than yourself), check with them first to ensure they are willing and able to host a Pollination Celebration in May or June 2025 if selected. You’ll also need their contact information so we can reach out if they are chosen. They will be notified of your nomination.
Highlight Their Impact
Be ready to describe why your Pollinator Nominee would make an outstanding host. Share how they contribute to food literacy and school food engagement, and how they create opportunities for students to learn and grow through food.
Gather Supporting Photos
Collect images that showcase their impact, such as school gardens, cooking classes, or students engaged in hands-on learning. Avoid headshots or posed portraits—we want to capture real moments of learning and action. If photos include students, ensure you have consent, as these images may be used in Farm to School BC promotional materials, including online and in future reports.
Submit Your Nomination
Once you have everything ready, complete the online nomination form and send it in!
How Selections are Made
All nominations will be entered into a random draw, and one nominee from each of the five Farm to School BC regions (Fraser, Interior, Island, Northern, and Vancouver Coastal) will be selected to receive $1,300 to organize a Pollination Celebration for their students. While the final selection is random, your nominations help us highlight and celebrate the incredible contributions of educators and schools across the province.
Pollinators will be notified by March 14th, 2025
