Fall Activities (September – November)
Are you looking for some activities to do outside with your K-12 class this fall? Whether or not you have a growing space, there are plenty of BC Curriculum-based activities to do with your students. Keep in mind that activities will vary depending on where you are in the province, they might be possible earlier/later than suggested here.

In the garden – In your schoolyard
- Farm to School BC Lesson Plan: Saving Garden Seeds – A hands-on series of classroom activities about seed saving. Another lesson on seed saving from the SPEC Guide (p.40-49).
- Plant garlic with your students! Here is a guide from Megan Zeni.
- SPEC has a wonderful Neighborhood Nature School page, with links to a Fall Scavenger Hunt, All About Pumpkins lesson (K-4), and more.
- In southern BC, direct sow seeds (e.g. peas, lettuce, arugula, kale, radishes, spinach, pak choi); refer to our Crop Planning Guide for more ideas.
