Share Your Input: Strengthening School Food Partnerships in the Fraser Region!

Farm to School BC (F2SBC) connects students across British Columbia with nutritious, local, and sustainable food while offering hands-on learning opportunities that foster food literacy. Increasing the presence of BC foods in schools can benefit students, schools, and communities by bolstering the local food system, supporting the economy, and enriching students’ knowledge of and connections to food systems (Feed BC, 2024).

F2SBC is organizing a school food-focused gathering in the Fraser region to connect school districts with local food producers and processors. Scheduled for Spring 2025, this event aims to foster meaningful conversations among school districts, BC-based food producers, processors, and other stakeholders passionate about school food initiatives.

The gathering will focus on two main objectives:

  1. Highlighting and showcasing successful partnerships between local producers and schools in the region that help bring more nutritious and local foods into schools.
  2. Facilitating discussions and networking opportunities to inspire new collaborations and partnerships between school districts and local producers and processors.
