Share Your #F2SBCStory this F2S Month!

This Farm to School Month, we’re gathering your stories to celebrate and demonstrate to potential funders the impact of Farm to School BC. In a normal year, we would be opening our grant applications right now, but we need core funding to continue supporting K-12 schools and communities across the province. If this program has made a difference in your community, now is the time to speak up and help keep it growing.

Are you part of a previously funded school? Have we collaborated as community partners? Has Farm to School BC brought students to your local farm, kitchen, or food production site? Were you planning to apply for a grant this year and are feeling the sting of not having that opportunity? Are you a parent or student who’s been impacted by our programming?

We want to hear from all of you! Your voice can help us show why Farm to School BC is essential for students, schools, and communities.

Prompts to Get Started

Educators and School Communities: Bring this into your classroom and engage your students. Capture photos of food education in action, collect messages from your community sharing what F2SBC means to them, and create artwork and poems with your students.

Parents and Families: Share the impact F2SBC has had on your child’s health and willingness to engage with new foods.

Community Organizations: Share your experience collaborating with F2SBC or how you’ve seen our work extend beyond schools into the community.

Farmers and Food Producers: Let us know how working with schools and hosting students has made a difference on your farm and supported local BC agriculture.

Public Health Partners: Explain why food literacy is a must-have for student and community well-being.

Grant Applicants: Were you planning to apply for one of our grants this year? Your ideas don’t have to go to waste. Share your project idea or full proposal using the form below. Together, we can show potential sponsors what our community needs most.

All story submissions may be shared on our social media, website, or newsletters. We also hope to compile everything we receive into something special at the end of the year. Please read the media consent section carefully before submitting.

Thank you for being part of this growing movement! 💚
