Learn how to grow microgreens in your classroom!
March 8, 2017 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Learn how to grow microgreens at your school! They are very easy to grow, and provide a lot of hands on learning opportunities in your classroom. They only take two weeks to grow before you can eat them, making for a rewarding classroom crop. Growing sunflowers, peas, broccoli, radishes, and wheatgrass are kid-friendly and easy, but the sky is the limit when it comes to microgreens.
Get your feet wet in the world of school gardening! Anyone can grow microgreens, even if you don’t have a green thumb, it is a great way to teach your students about seeds, growing, and eating of course! They are so delicious, that classrooms that have been growing them are selling them to teachers, parents, and even local restaurants and making money for their classroom.
We will go over the basics of how to grow microgreens, provide examples of lesson plans based on growing and eating them, and answer questions and troubleshoot any issues teachers are having. Teachers in Kamloops, BC have been growing microgreens for a couple of years now, and one of them will be leading the webinar.
